With a final online workshop, this year’s edition of our Go-To-Market programme for international scale-ups has come to an end. However, it is just the beginning of the expansion journey of our participants and we are eager to continue supporting them.
This year, DOACCELERATE focused on the topic of intralogistics and we have had 6 fantastic companies from 5 different countries join us for the kick-off in Dortmund in April. For 2 days, a full agenda showed what Dortmund has to offer. The first day started with an in-depth expansion workshop by upvisor and valuable insights by IHK Dortmund, ZENIT and NRW Global Business. We then visited Fraunhofer IML and checked out the new TZDO Centre for Logistics and IT, which offers plenty of room for growth, before we continued with a playful logistics challenge organised by our partner Digital Hub Logistics. In the evening, we enjoyed the sunset as we went on the Skywalk at Phoenix West to learn about the industrial transformation of Dortmund’s economy. Day 2 took place at TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS, a valuable networking event where innovative solutions from the intralogistics industry were showcased. This was accompanied by exchange and matchmaking sessions with the Dortmund ecosystem and allowed for opportunities to get to know the local market and potential customers.
After the participants returned to their respective home countries, the programme continued virtually, by 1:1 coaching sessions that looked very specifically at each individual challenge and opportunity of entering the German market. With the final workshop, we learned how much the scale-ups have benefited from their participation in DOACCELERATE – being able to make the decision if Germany is the right market and how to approach it. And of course, the Dortmund Economic Development Agency is always by their side to support during the next steps.
